I recently watched a movie where one of the main character insists that “we must stay alive, because we have to see how the story ends.” I’m getting ready to transition into a different phase of life; changes that I don’t necessarily want, but are out of my control. I can either approach the unknown with bitterness and anxiety OR welcome it with a sense of excitement as I watch the Overseer of my dreams and desires unfold my story with His. I want to see how it ends. I may not understand what He is up to, but I know that He is good. Graham Cooke writes, “God takes us out of a place of confidence and puts us into a place of uncertainty to learn a new confidence in Him.” That is it folks. I’m excited to see how it all goes. Because who really knows? He does and I can trust him.
“What I like about the way God extravagantly loves us, is that He doesn’t make us love Him or anyone else either. Instead, He lets us decide every day whether we’ll play it safe or leak what we love.”—Bob Goff
“God so longs for faithful, intimate, abiding relationships with us that He is not ashamed to express His fear of losing us, His desire for unending relationship, and His hurt from hatred of unfaithfulness.”—
